CMA Festival 2010

We're just gonna put this out on the table and get all the awkwardness out of the way. Matt and I do not generally like country music. Ironic as this is being that we live in the country music capital of the world, it's true. I know of a few songs and artists, but only because they have crossover songs that play on the normal "top of the charts" stations.

Matt won a contest at work and the prize was 2 box seat tickets to the closing night of the festival. We debated going, but we figured what the hell... if nothing else we'd have some awesome stories. Then, Thursday my boss offered me tickets to the opening night. Again, we figured hey, might as well see what this is all about.
Getting ready to leave Thursday night. 95 degrees outside, 80 inside, so just a tad stuffy!

Here are some pictures from the performances

Some guy named Danny Gokey???

Alan Jackson - we had heard of him, but not any of his songs.

Tim McGraw - great performance!

Lady Antebellum - I did want to see them. Have heard their songs and actually like them.

Now for Sunday night. A little better. Suite level box seats with air conditioning and free food and booze. What's not to like!
Blake Shelton & Miranda Lambert

Blake Shelton & Trace Atkins. Matt was amazed at how "jacked" Trace Atkins was!

Darius Rucker, and yes, he did do the whole Hootie & the Blowfish bit. But, he did play some classic purple rain and surprised the whole place. He put on a great show.

So, that's about it. Lots of pictures. We are glad we went, but enjoyed the fact that the tickets were free. I don't think we would go if we actually had to pay. Just not our thing!

Love the coral dress, and glad I wasn't there to stay in 80 degree weather inside!
