What I'm Sippin'

ABOUT US

Hi! Thank you for visiting us. We are the Watsons and we live in Fabulous Nashville. We aren't quite as fabulous as this great city, but we can try. I started our little blog adventure in 2009 not long after we bought our first home. We were living 8 hours from all our family and friends and wanted to find a way to communicate with everyone we loved and let them know what was going on in our lives. It's evolved into a little bit of this and little bit of that and a lot of everything that happens in our lives.

Meet our little family...

This is Me, Erin.
I'm a newly late 20's something, not so newlywed. I grew up in the lowcountry of South Carolina where cooking comfort food, lazy summer days on the beach and fishing at the river were the most important things in life. I was one of those weird kids who knew what they wanted to do from age 10. There was a brief period before that I thought I wanted to be a veterinarian, but I quickly learned that my favorite thing in life was buying things and I wanted to find a way to do that and have people pay me for it! After college I got a job for a national home decor retailer and I love, love, love my job. I'm doing exactly what I wanted to, buying things! It's hard work, but I love getting to travel to new places, seeing new trends and seeing the reaction to product I choose.
The summer before college I met the other love of my life, the Hubby, Matt. We dated for 5 years and then on March 1, 2008 were married in a beautiful southern style wedding in Charleston, SC. We are almost at our 3 year anniversary and I can honestly say that I wouldn't change a thing about my life!

This is the Hubs, Matt.
He's a newly late 30 something, not so newly married to me. He grew up in a cute suburb of Minneapolis, MN where the most important things are keeping warm and playing hockey. I'm not quite so sure about the keeping warm part, but he was a great hockey player. Like me he either wanted to be a veterinarian or a pro hockey player. There's only so much room for pro hockey players in the world, so he had to settle for being a great Account Executive for a national marketing and advertising firm. He still loves to play hockey in leagues around town, and over the years of living in the south has begun to love the game of golf. After almost 3 years of marriage I'm pretty sure he's happy with life too, but he may want to change the frequency of our TV being tuned into Bravo! He's not quite as into the blog things as I am, but you may hear from him some time.

And these are our Babies.
Sadie May Sugar Magnolia Watson
aka: Baby Girl, Noodle, Puppy Kitty and Tiny Hiney
She is our almost 3 year old tiny Cavalier King Charles Spaniel that we love, love, love like she were our baby. We cannot remember what life was like before we got her.
She was supposed to be my dog, but of course she loves Matt more. She is obsessed with her frisbee and licking. She doesn't understand the difference between dogs and cats and thinks that she should be able to do anything we can.
She is a cuddle bug and an all around people pleaser. We wouldn't trade her for the world!

Sophie Rose Way-Watson
She chose to hyphenate her name when we got married. I got Sophie when I was in middle school and she is my original Baby Girl. She is truly the sweetest cat. She loves hugs and being carried around, slung over your arm like she was hanging on a tree branch. Her favorite spot is in the window of our breakfast nook where she talks with the birds and squirrels.

Scarlet Begonias Watson
Scarlet was a shelter rescue that Matt found not long after moving to SC. A tiny kitten reached through the cage to tap his arm and it was all over from there. I used to refer to her as the devil, but over the years we have grown to love each other. We both agree that having a dog in the house has mellowed her. She now loves other people the way she used to only love her daddy. She is a very intersting cat and definitely lets you know what's on her mind, like - when will dinner be! Her favorite spot is sunning on the sunroom where she lays for hours until her black fur gets too hot to handle.
