New Washing Machine

This past weekend was our first time getting to use our new washing machine. If you read back in our posts from earlier this year (Valentine's Day and Easter), you know we have been having some serious issues with our washer for quite some time now. Specifically, it seemed to overflow at any random time. In an attempt to save money, we tried to baby it and get it to last as long as possible, but I had finally had enough a few weekends ago.

Bethany was coming to visit the first weekend of June. Matt and I were finishing up cleaning the house and doing to laundry before she got here from Columbia. On the last load it over flowed. I had to go to Wal-Mart at 11:45pm to get a shopvac. NOT HAPPY

So, long story sort of shortened, we decided to get a new washer. We shopped and compared, etc. and finally decided on the GE Colossal Capacity Top Load washer from Lowe's. It was on sale from $699 to $450 plus we had a coupon for $25 off. Free delivery and carry off was great too.
In addition to the conservation of water, we were so happy with the added room the new washer had. Our previous washer was from when I went off to college in 2003. What we used to consider a "super" load is now a medium. We have decreased our weekly laundry from 5+ loads to only 3.

Sadie was so happy about the new addition that she did her high-fives for us!

What? What's your problem mom??

She makes that awful face and I'm the one she's looking at like I'm crazy!! I love my sweet girl.

CMA Festival 2010

We're just gonna put this out on the table and get all the awkwardness out of the way. Matt and I do not generally like country music. Ironic as this is being that we live in the country music capital of the world, it's true. I know of a few songs and artists, but only because they have crossover songs that play on the normal "top of the charts" stations.

Matt won a contest at work and the prize was 2 box seat tickets to the closing night of the festival. We debated going, but we figured what the hell... if nothing else we'd have some awesome stories. Then, Thursday my boss offered me tickets to the opening night. Again, we figured hey, might as well see what this is all about.
Getting ready to leave Thursday night. 95 degrees outside, 80 inside, so just a tad stuffy!

Here are some pictures from the performances

Some guy named Danny Gokey???

Alan Jackson - we had heard of him, but not any of his songs.

Tim McGraw - great performance!

Lady Antebellum - I did want to see them. Have heard their songs and actually like them.

Now for Sunday night. A little better. Suite level box seats with air conditioning and free food and booze. What's not to like!
Blake Shelton & Miranda Lambert

Blake Shelton & Trace Atkins. Matt was amazed at how "jacked" Trace Atkins was!

Darius Rucker, and yes, he did do the whole Hootie & the Blowfish bit. But, he did play some classic purple rain and surprised the whole place. He put on a great show.

So, that's about it. Lots of pictures. We are glad we went, but enjoyed the fact that the tickets were free. I don't think we would go if we actually had to pay. Just not our thing!
